Emberfall
Bells once rang here.
A world behind the fences
Hold Aether. Wake a holding. Become its Warden — and write your name into what the world still remembers.
Follow the old roadBells once rang here.
The reed-crown remembers.
The fences reached last.
Long before the great houses and their ledgers, hidden Wardens kept watch over the free lands. At the heart of every holding stood a single feather, and through them the whole world spoke.
Then came the Enclosure. Forests vanished behind mist and thornwall. Shires forgot their names. One by one, the feathers went dark — until the world could no longer remember what it had been.
Now the thornwall is thinning.
Carry enough of the old current to wake a feather.
Choose one of the thousand places still behind the thornwall.
Keep watch for as long as your Aether sustains the bond.
Your name joins the page the world has begun to remember.
Wardenship follows the current. The newest bond is the first to fade when less Aether is carried.
“I see mist over the eastern holdings still. Ask, and I will tell you what I remember.”
Sher speaks through the nearest feather: of forgotten rulers, wars beneath the roots, and the names each shire carried before the fences came.
Atlas, 1,000 holdings, Wardenship, and Sher’s first memories.
World events and memories that deepen with a Warden’s watch.
Quests, ruins, and deeper journeys through the old world.
A thousand feathers wait beneath the map.
